A Brave, Brave Daddy!

So as many of you know, I'm entering my 6th week of Nursing School. It's going great and I absolutely LOVE it! It's hard and I'm busier than I ever thought possible but I know it will be worth it. Thanks to everyone who has helped out...(you know who you are). With babysitting and dinners and offers to do laundry and run my kids to activities...the list goes on and on. THANK YOU! And to all those who have OFFERED to help out but I haven't used yet...don't worry! I have two years left. I'll use you and hopefully not abuse you!

So next week I have THREE tests. A lecture test on Monday. A dosage calculations test on Tuesday and a Vital Signs and Health Assessment Lab check off on Wednesday. I have to do well on all three to stay in the program. Saturday I spent the whole day studying. I was a nervous wreck trying to cram in massive amounts of information in a short space of time. Joey has been WONDERFUL about taking care of the kids while I lock myself in my room with my books and the computer. But it's still noisy and chaotic around here. So Joey decided to take the kids out of the house so I could have quiet. He told me he was going to take all the kids to the Diamondbacks game. I thought he was joking! ALL the kids? By himself? He said he could handle it and it would give me a few hours to study. So off they went. I was scared for him....

They stopped at Target first to buy notebooks for the girls to color and draw in (since they aren't big baseball fans) and also to buy stuff to make a poster. Joey is convinced that if you have a poster, you'll get on TV.... AND THEY DID! Unfortunately, the boys were in the team shop at the time but Joey, Avery and Adelle were all on TV for a good 5 seconds! We recorded it and have watched it a dozen times!
I got so much done while they were gone! I am beyond grateful for that quiet time. Even though it would have been fun to go with everyone to the game...I have to get through this. Thanks to the greatest husband in the world who lets me practice taking his blood pressure until his arm is numb and lets me practice doing physical assessments with only a few off color comments! Gotta love him!

Camping with Bommy and Grandpa

My brave parents took Gage and Drey camping last weekend. Drey has not stopped talking about how much fun they had and all that they saw and did! Here a just a few of the many pictures that were taken.....

Racing stick boats........

Gage looks like he had a good conversation with his Grandpa!
Drey is that my sweatshirt you have on!!??
That looks safe. That was safe, right?
Drey's favorite part of the whole trip was definitely the cave!

Gage was horrified at Grandpas choice of beverage! Frankly, I have to agree with Gage. Thanks Mom and Dad for taking them! And thanks for taking so many pictures. I think we should all go next time. I think the girls would love that cave, too. As soon as my schedule clears (in a couple years) we'll go!

Catching up....

This weekend Joey's old mission companion came into town for work. Maybe I should say "former" and not "old"...anyways...Joey took Friday off of work and they spent Friday and some of Saturday catching up. It had been a couple of years since we last got together. Delly was only 6 months old last time, I think. She looks like she doesn't want to have anything to do with him in the picture but actually she walked right up to him and shook his hand and said "Hi, Ray." It was so cute! It was a short but good visit! We need to make our way up to Las Vegas to see him and his family next time. It seems like they always come down here so I guess it's our turn. I just don't trust Joey around roulette tables. Crazy things can and have happened!

Family Pictures

We were really long overdue for some updated family pictures. It was just unfortunate timing that we chose to have them taken outside in August. It was so stinkin HOT! We were all melting but in spite of it all we were able to get some great shots! Thanks BK! Yes....I know. That's just how he is.....
My Mom and Dad....I love this picture!Delly has one dimple on the right side of her mouth....this picture captures it perfectly!

Happy Labor-less day!

I love a free day! No school. No work. It was wonderful. I needed it so bad just to catch up on my life! This afternoon we all gathered at my parents house for Eric's famous homemade pizza. He had a new creation to wow us with ...Bacon Chicken Ranch pizza....Holy Cow! Delish! I ate entirely too much...I know...so not like me! I don't know what came over me because usually my self control is limitless! I think we all indulged a bit too much. Bommy bought the new Little Mermaid movie for the girls to watch. Avery especially was SO excited! She LOVES the Little Mermaid. Pretzels anyone??In gatherings such as this one...it's all about the games. We love to play games. I bought a new one that we tried out called Urban Myth. We also played some Speed Scrabble and Rummykub. Good times. Good times. Drey is the only one of the kids that likes to play games with the grown ups. He's good, too! He can school us all at Speed Scrabble. Of course, he tends to use words like "poop" and "barf" and "butt". What can I say? I'm doing the best I can as his mother!
Thanks Mom for letting us come over and trash your house! I just realized that I left without helping to clean up....whoops-a-daisy! I hope we get invited back.
